Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 28 February, the second plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan began in Tashkent.

At the meeting, senators approved the following laws:

- “On Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan” (as amended);

- "On the census";

- “On Metrology” (in the new edition);

- “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the establishment of additional guarantees of the rights of the child”;

- “On the establishment of the Day of Workers of the Mahalla System.”

- “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with the Improvement of the Procedure for Conducting Cases in Courts”;

- “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”;

- “On the ratification of the Charter of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (The Hague, October 31, 1951).”

Also, the relevant Senate resolution was adopted on the issue of approving the Presidential Decree “On measures to improve the social and spiritual atmosphere in society, further support of the mahalla institution, as well as raising the system of work with families and women to a new level”.

In addition, senators decided to send a parliamentary request to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Also, the Law on International Commercial Arbitration was rejected by senators due to a number of conceptual flaws.
