Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Government resolution approved the Administrative Regulations for the provision of public services to determine the level of foreign language proficiency.
According to the resolution, from 1 March 2022:
applications for participation in a test to determine the level of foreign language proficiency, obtaining a qualification certificate or certificate are accepted through the my.gov.uz;
the requirement from the applicant for a copy of a photograph 3.5 x 4.5 cm and a document confirming payment for a public service is canceled;
exam dates are published on the STC website, and the applicant will be given the right to choose the exam date;
the time for publishing test results is reduced from 3 to 1 week;
a qualification certificate or reference is sent to the applicant within 1 working day from the date of publication of the result.
For each of the existing levels (A2, B1, B2, C1), a generalized multi-level (Multi-level) testing system (B1, B2, C1) is introduced in addition to a separate exam procedure.
The Multi-level testing system will be introduced from 1 March 2022 for English, from 1 November 2022 for German, French and Arabic.
In accordance with the Regulations, when providing public services to determine the level of foreign language proficiency, the applicant independently fills out a questionnaire through the my.gov.uz.
Confirmation of the questionnaire with an electronic digital signature is not required.
The request is automatically sent to the STC (authorized body) through the my.gov.uz.
The STC notifies applicants of the place and exact time of the qualifying examination 3 days before the date of the examination.
The level of proficiency in a foreign language is determined by a test, written work and an assessment of speaking skills.
The qualifying examination may be conducted on paper or on a computer.
When passing the exam, the applicant must present the original passport, identity card or birth certificate.
The qualification test for each level consists of:
30 questions in each of the sections "listening" and "reading";
2 written assignments in the "written work" section (depending on the level, the first assignment is 30-150 words, the second assignment is 50-250 words);
3 types of tasks in the "speaking" section.
The regulation comes into force on 1 March 2022.
