Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures to improve the system of providing narcological assistance to the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

According to the Resolution, a Republican specialized scientific and practical medical center for narcology was created on the basis of the Republican Narcological Center.

One of the main tasks of the Center is to improve the organization of the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of narcological diseases, the implementation of organizational and methodological guidance of the activities of drug addiction services.

In accordance with the Resolution, individuals while being intoxicated in public places, are provided with medical care (except in cases of severe alcohol intoxication) are to be delivered to medical care centers at the Republican Narcological Dispensary of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Tashkent City and Regional Narcological dispensaries.

The resolution approved the Program of measures for the further development of the narcological service of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2020.

In accordance with the Program, it is planned to build 8 facilities for 710 places, reconstruct 3 sites for 300 places and overhaul 3 sites for 312 places.
