Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in Washington between representatives of the embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States and vice president of the American analytical and consulting company Gallup, Inc. John Clifton.
During the negotiations, the leadership of the American company expressed its readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan as a consultant in such areas as improving education, creating favorable conditions for the growth of entrepreneurship, improving public welfare and other aspects, Dunyo reported.
Gallup, Inc., founded by George Gallup in 1935, is known for its public opinion polls. Since the 1980s, it has focused on providing analysis and management consulting for organizations around the world. Since 2005, the company annually conducts a worldwide survey, during which the opinion of citizens of 160 countries is studied. Global indices are compiled in areas such as law and order, decent food and housing, infrastructure, good jobs, well-being and mental development.
A separate area of this organization is working with international organizations, the US government and foreign countries in the collection of information on specific topics of interest.
During the meeting, J. Clifton, expressing appreciation for the interest in enhancing cooperation with Gallup, positively assessed the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and noted that the reforms aimed at improving the well-being of the people will serve as factors for improving the indicators of the human dimension in the republic.
Each year, Gallup polls are compiled to prepare the World Happiness Report, which announces the happiest country in the world and explains what makes its people so happy.
In 2019, Uzbekistan took 41st place in this rating. The World Happiness Report is commissioned by the United Nations since 2012. Countries are assessed by indicators such as the level of GDP per capita, life expectancy, social support, generosity, level of freedom and level of corruption in terms of the impact on residents making vital decisions.
A new World Happiness Report 2020 is expected this month.
