Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 January 2020, a delegation of the Cotton Campaign international coalition arrived in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which includes representatives of such non-governmental organizations and programs as the Responsible Buyers Network and the Uzbek-German Human Rights Forum Human Rights, Human Rights Watch, Center for Solidarity and Monitoring Mission for Labor Rights in Central Asia.

On 31 January 2020, at the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Prosecutor General Saidkarimov S.S. A meeting with the delegation of the Cotton campaign took place.

The meeting discussed issues related to forced and child labor, ensuring human rights, measures taken in these areas, as well as establishing further cooperation.

Mr. Bennett Freeman, co-founder of the Cotton campaign international coalition, highlighted the ongoing reforms in the country. In particular, in the field of prevention of forced and child labor.

Following the meeting, the parties noted the need to continue activities to eradicate forced labor and ensure the rights of citizens.

The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere.
