The process of transformation of JSC "Thermal Power Plants" and perspective tasks for 2022-2026 presented

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, at the Tashkent City Congress Hall in the city of Tashkent, within the framework of the Uzbek economic forum on the theme "Uzbekistan: results and prospects of economic reforms", a presentation of JSC "Thermal Power Plants" was held, dedicated to reforms in the field of electricity production in our country over the past five years, the effectiveness of investment programs, transformation processes and promising tasks for 2022-2026.

Thanks to the direct efforts of the head of our state, today we are witnessing positive changes in the country's electricity industry. For example, if until 2016 the total capacity of newly introduced modern equipment in the industry was 505 MW (5.45% of the total production capacity), then as a result of investment projects implemented in 2017-2021, 3204 MW of new capacities were additionally commissioned. the total capacity of energy efficient, the most modern energy saving equipment reached 3709 MW (31.7% of the total capacity of thermal power plants).

Over the past five years, new installations have been introduced at the Talimarjan, Tashkent, Navoi, Takhiatash stations, two stages of modernization of units have been completed in Syrdarya, and final work is underway. In order to ensure the welfare of the inhabitants of the Fergana Valley, the Turakurgan station was built, and modern gas turbine equipment was put into operation in the Fergana thermal power plant. In total, US$4.75 billion were spent on the implementation of these projects.

As a result of the introduction of energy efficient installations, 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas for a total of 1.5 trillion soums were saved.

At the same time, the participants of the presentation were introduced to the transformation process of JSC "Thermal Power Plants" and promising tasks for 2022-2026.

It is worth noting that work in this direction is being carried out with international consulting companies KPMG and Deloitte, which are part of the group of audit companies of the "Big Four", the analysis of the work carried out by international partners will help bring the company's activities to a new level.

Steps were taken to implement International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and training courses were organized for 50 accountants to achieve internationally recognized ratings.

Measures are being taken to ensure the implementation of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to improve the anti-corruption system in the Republic of Uzbekistan", as well as openness and transparency of society. Meanwhile, following the results of the training, the certificate of the international standard ISO 37001: 2016 from the "Cert academy group" was awarded to the representatives of the central office of JSC "Thermal Power Plants".

Work is underway to effectively organize the Digital Uzbekistan-203 strategy and digital transformation program with international and local partners such as X Holding, Mars Solutions, SAP CIS and SAPRUN.

The presentation was attended by representatives of such reputable international companies as the EBRD, Mitsubishi Corporation, KPMG, an exchange of views on the development of thermal power plants in our country took place.
