Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the sixth plenary meeting, the senators considered the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with improving the procedure for military service by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

It was noted that this Law was developed in order to ensure the implementation of the decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On approval of the Regulations on the procedure for military service by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan" and "On improving the system of training reserve and reserve officers in military training departments of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The adoption of the Law will make it possible to improve and bring into a single form the legislative acts related to the passage of military service by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to uniformly interpret all concepts, terms and names used in this area.

The main purpose of making changes and additions:

- a clear definition of the criterion for acceptance and dismissal from military service;

- reflection in legislative acts of changes related to the introduction of the rank of sergeant I, II, III degree instead of the sergeant rank, as well as the ranks of naval personnel;

- granting to the heads of ministries, state committees and departments with the power structure of powers to establish procedures for wearing military uniforms, previously assigned to the Ministry of Defense;

- determination of the possibility of training reserve and reserve officers in training centers and at military training courses in higher educational institutions.

Amendments and additions will contribute to the regulation of existing legislative acts and the elimination of legal gaps in the legislation.

After active discussion, this Law was approved by the senators.
