The President of Kazakhstan signs a law providing for the supply of oil to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On ratification of the Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on certain issues of cooperation in the energy sector”.
The framework agreement states that Uzbekistan is interested in supplying oil of Kazakhstani origin in the amount of up to 2 million tons per year.
Within the framework of the document, the parties intend to create a coordinating council that will regulate and control the timely implementation of measures.
Kazakhstan, prior to the commissioning of the Shymkent-Jizzak trunk oil pipeline, levies services for the transportation of oil through the VAT trunk pipeline at a zero rate.
