The multi-sectoral technology park Oklon opened in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An opening ceremony of the multi-sectoral technology park Oklon took place in Shayhantakhur district of Tashkent.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 10 August 2018, in the course of familiarization with the creative and landscaping work in our capital, entrusted the task of creating the technology park Oklon.

In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers on 7 November 2018 adopted a resolution on measures to organize the diversified technology park Oklon. The goal is to create conditions for actively attracting investments, to further support the development of new competitive industries and technology parks, to ensure their concentration in certain areas, to create on the basis of this new jobs in production, to increase employment and welfare of the population.

On the basis of the resolution, a part of an empty land plot with a total area of 1.8 hectares in Shayhantahur district was allocated to the investment company PSBCapital of Uzpromstroybank to create a multi-branch technology park Oklon. At the same time, Uzpromstroybank and PSBCapital, as an exception, allowed the construction of facilities in the industrial park on the terms of simultaneous design in compliance with established norms and rules of urban planning.

In the technopark area, in a short time, four modern production facilities were erected using modern building materials, communication infrastructure meeting the requirements of manufacturers, and the surrounding area was landscaped.

It should be noted that the technopark envisages implementation of three projects with a total cost of 110 billion soums. As a result, 1000 new jobs will be created.

In particular, Colmet engravo will manufacture various products from non-ferrous metals. As a result of the project implementation, the production of finished products with a high added value of 20 billion soums will be arranged for a total amount of 30 billion soums per year, 190 new jobs will be created.

Another project that will be implemented on the territory of the industrial park is the production of sanitary and hygienic products. 35 billion soums will be spent on this project, which will be implemented by Lider Kosmetik. As a result, 260 new jobs will be created.

Also, Overbridge will implement a project for the production of balls worth 45 billion soums. With the launch of the enterprise at full capacity, 875,000 pieces of balls will be launched annually. 550 workers will be provided with permanent jobs.

It should be noted that foreign investments are also actively involved in the implementation of these projects. In particular, the Chinese investor’s Overbridge project for the production of balls invests US$3 million.

At the same time, Lider Kosmetik will attract credit line of Eximbank of Turkey (US$ 3.5 million) and Colmet engrave - China State Development Bank (US$ 2.5 million).
