The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade holds a videoconference with advisors on trade and economic issues abroad
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 July, a video conference was held at the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade with the participation of advisers on trade and economic issues at the embassies of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad and responsible heads of industry and functional departments.
During the conference, reports of advisers on the work done in the first half of the year to attract foreign investment and the latest technologies in the economy of the republic, as well as to promote domestic products for export, taking into account country specifics, were heard. In this context, the problematic issues in working with foreign investors and the implementation of investment initiatives, as well as possible ways to optimize country export strategies were discovered and worked out.
The state of implementation of investment projects in the framework of the Road Maps approved following the summit visits to the Republic of Korea, the People’s Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates was also reviewed: progress was examined, and further steps to accelerate interaction with foreign partners were outlined.
During the discussion, constructive proposals for optimizing the interaction between departments of the Ministry at all levels were voiced and considered: for example, the initiative was approved to assign responsible staff of the central office to trade and economic advisers in each country to monitor the implementation of projects and operational situational response to emerging problems.
It was also decided on a regular basis to hold separate video conferences in cooperation with the “embassy - central office - regional unit” with the participation of involved specialists from relevant ministries and departments, if necessary.
