Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A meeting was held with the British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uzbekistan, T. Torlow, at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, during which issues of bilateral investment and trade and economic cooperation were discussed.

The ambassador noted the increased interest of the British business community in working with Uzbekistan, which proves the growing number of newly created joint ventures with the participation of British capital and increased communication between the business circles of the two countries.

The issues of preparation for the 25th meeting of the Uzbek-British Council on Trade and Industry, which is scheduled to be held in May this year in London, were touched upon. Within the framework of the forum, it is planned to organize a number of bilateral events with the participation of representatives of leading British and Uzbek companies, including a round table on the topic: “Opportunities for enhancing business cooperation”, a cooperation exchange in the B2B and G2B format, as well as thematic sessions, in detail revealing the investment potential of individual industries and sectors of Uzbekistan such as the oil and gas sector, chemistry and petrochemicals, education, healthcare, banking sector, the sphere of privatization and circulation of securities.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a business club with the participation of representatives of British companies operating in Uzbekistan. The first meeting of the business club is scheduled for March 2020.
