Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Moscow, there are currently a certain number of citizens of Uzbekistan at Moscow’s Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo international airports who could not fly to their homeland due to the closure of the air , road and rail links between the two countries.
The embassy, together with the management of Vnukovo Airport, worked out the issue of allocating terminal “B” for our compatriots to stay, where the necessary conditions were created, including a medical center, bathrooms, hot meals were organized, furniture equipment was installed (chairs, sofas, tables and chairs).
Despite a series of conversations held, fellow citizens refuse to move to the designated area and continue to remain at the check-in desks of Vnukovo Airport.
In this regard, the Ministry asked compatriots to treat the situation with understanding and go to terminal “B” as soon as possible.
The embassy also controls the situation at Sheremetyevo Airport and is in talks with the Russian authorities regarding flights arriving in Moscow from other countries. The issue of providing them with hot meals is being addressed, including with the involvement of sponsorship funds and entrepreneurs from among the members of the Uzbek diaspora.
“We reiterate our call on compatriots who are on the territory of Russia to remain calm and, if possible, not to leave their places of permanent / temporary residence, strictly adhering to safety measures,” the Ministry said.
As previously reported, from March 19, 2020, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan can extend the period of temporary stay in the territory of the Russian Federation by contacting the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia closest to their actual location.
