The Ministry of Energy receives a delegation of Saudi Arabia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation of Saudi Arabia held negotiations with the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

The representative of the foreign side was headed by the Director of the General Directorate for International Agreements and Investments of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Badromal Mavgan.

The parties discussed areas of potential cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of energy.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia Ulugbek Maksudov and members of the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was organized as part of a visit by representatives of the business community of Saudi Arabia.

On the eve of this visit, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Maksudov met with a member of the Board of Directors of GSS MEA Ltd and Advanced Inspection Services Cooperation Hassan al-Salim. This was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

GSS MEA Ltd. is one of the largest companies in the Middle East, has many years of experience in the energy market and is able to implement complex projects for the construction of industrial-scale solar PV plants. Advanced Inspection Services Co. (AIS) is an industrial inspection company engaged in production control aimed at providing high quality services

In the conversation, the parties discussed the issues of attracting investments of these companies for the implementation of energy projects in Uzbekistan. Of particular interest was the information about the competitive bidding held in Uzbekistan to select a private partner for the construction of a solar photovoltaic station (FES) with a total capacity of 100 MW in the Navoi region on a public-private partnership. This project is aimed at attracting more than US$1 billion of investments in the development of solar power plants in Uzbekistan.
