Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 7 February 2020, negotiations with the delegation of the Republic of Singapore led by the senior state minister of trade and industry of that country, Kung Ko Po, were held at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore Zulfikli Bakharuddin.

From the Uzbek side, members of the management of Uzkimyosanoat JSC also took part in the negotiations.

The parties discussed projects implemented in Uzbekistan with the participation of Singapore companies in various fields and the possibility of expanding cooperation.

In particular, the project with the Indorama company is ongoing to further modernize and expand the existing facilities of Qoqon Superphosphate Creek JSC. The investment obligations of the Singapore company are US$67.0 million.

At the first stage, it is planned to increase the production capacity of superphosphate to 350 thousand tons, at the second - the development of a concept for the production of new types of fertilizers by the plant.

Also, Indorama is actively investing in the cotton and textile industry and is working on issues of participation in other promising projects.

The Singapore side noted the interest in Singapore's private business participation in projects for the construction of solar power plants.

During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on the study of promising projects in the energy and chemical sectors, privatization facilities, as well as the sale of products manufactured in Uzbekistan on foreign markets, including using the experience of Singapore.
