Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Bureau of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), through an electronic consultation process, approved the adoption of the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan as an associate member of ISSA starting from 13 March 2020.
Since the entry into force, the Ministry of Labor has the right to access the full range of services, including all conferences, publications and services offered by the ISSA Center for Advanced Training in Social Security Administration, including ISSA electronic online resources, including those intended for supporting national measures to mitigate the socio-economic consequences of the coronavirus crisis.
The main goal of the Ministry of Labor membership in the International Social Security Association (ISSA) is to join the Vision zero concept.

What is the Vision Zero Concept?
The philosophy of the Vision zero campaign is that all work-related injuries and occupational diseases can be prevented, a new approach to the prevention of injuries and diseases, the formation of a prevention culture as an integral part of work safety, health and well-being of workers in the workplace.
The main objectives of the Vision zero campaign are:
- provide a global strategy, platform and resources in support of Vision zero;
- through a single campaign to promote the worldwide interaction of organizations practicing prevention programs;
- provide support to enterprises in the development of a culture of prevention of work-related injuries based on the principles of Vision zero.
Why is it so necessary to join the Vision Zero Concept?
Globally, 2.78 million work-related deaths each year, economic losses from industrial accidents and occupational diseases are 4% - 6% of GDP, more than 360,000 families worldwide have lost one family member.
