Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov during a working visit to Bukhara region on 17 June conducted a review of progress in expanding gas supply, including the industrial zones of the Karakul, Alat, Peshku and Vobkent districts with the aim of supplying sectors of the economy and population of the region. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
Ulugbek Sayidov, Chairman of the Board of Uztransgaz JSC, and a number of other responsible persons also took part in the working visit to these areas.
Sultanov got acquainted in detail with the current potential of the Karakul-Alot AGRS (automated gas distribution station) and, based on the task of stable supply of gas to business entities, gave a task to expand its capabilities. According to the Minister, there are necessary opportunities for this, given that the reconstruction of the AGRS and the construction of a separate industrial collector for the new industrial zone, which is scheduled to be completed by July 20 of this year, are currently underway.
In addition, in Bukhara region, taking into account the growing economic activity, a project was launched to build another gas pipeline with a diameter of 720 mm (RAC) at a distance of 38 km along the Romitan-Alat-Karakul highway. Having been at the construction site, members of the delegation assessed the pace of the project and gave detailed recommendations to specialists to speed up the process with a view to commissioning the facility by September 1 of this year.
With the aim of direct dialogue with entrepreneurs, obtaining first-hand information about their needs for gas supply, the Minister of Energy visited a number of business entities. A thorough discussion took place here on issues related to the sustainable supply of natural gas, timely payment, and the state of infrastructure. The opinion of entrepreneurs today is one of the significant aspects of a comprehensive analysis of the situation on the ground, the search for solutions aimed at supporting the economic development of the regions.
Bukhara region has significant economic potential, the implementation of which is facilitated by the organization of industrial zones. In particular, another 2 industrial zones are planned to be opened in the Karakul region. Among their objects is a modern greenhouse on 200 hectares of land, a workshop for the production of lime, brick, and reinforcement.
According to preliminary estimates of Khududgaz Bukhara, the annual volume of natural gas consumption at these planned industrial enterprises alone will be 71.926 million cubic meters. For the implementation of economic development plans, sustainable gas supply plays a leading role and requires constant analysis of the growing needs of the regions.
