Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In early June, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov made a working visit to the Shurtan Oil and Gas Production Department. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
During the visit, indicators of the current activities of the Shurtan oil and gas production department, the state of production processes and the organization of working conditions of employees in accordance with today’s sanitary and hygienic requirements were examined.
The Minister of Energy studied in detail the progress of the investment project to modernize the plant for the production of propane-butane mixture (UPPBS), gave instructions on accelerating its implementation.
UPPBS is intended for deeper integrated gas processing of the Shurtan gas condensate field. The purpose of the processing is to extract the propane-butane mixture from natural gas for use as a fuel.
They also analyzed the state of other construction and installation works underway in the Shurtan oil and gas production department, the innovativeness of the processes introduced in the production and dispatch service, examined the recently created Shurtan Museum of the History of Oil and Gas, the activity of which was given a positive assessment.
During the working visit, the Minister of Energy generally assessed positively the work to ensure regular deliveries of liquefied natural gas and the progress of projects aimed at further developing the fuel and energy industry, and given necessary instructions to specialists to accelerate the implementation of ongoing projects.
The Shurtanskoye oil and gas production department, which is a structural subdivision of JSC Uzbekneftegaz, was founded in 1980. It is engaged in gas production, development of gas and gas condensate fields, preparation and processing of natural gas and gas condensate.
During the years of independence in the management of the Shurtanskoye OGPD, tremendous work has been done to introduce high-tech plants for the preparation and processing of natural gas, including five phases of the plant for the production of propane-butane mixture.
Shurtan OGPD is one of the enterprises of state significance, an industrial giant occupying 1219 hectares of area. The company’s products include: natural gas (26.9%), gas condensate (27.7%), liquefied gas (30.1%), sulfur (1.54%).
