Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On organizing the activities of the Agency for the implementation of projects in the water sector under the Ministry of Water Resources of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

The resolution defines the main tasks of the Agency for the implementation of projects in the field of water management.

In particular, the Agency identifies projects aimed at improving the water management system, participates in the development of their annual, short-term and long-term programs.

The resolution approved the Regulation on the Agency, as well as a list of the State Unitary Enterprise “Suvgurilishinvest”, which are part of the Agency, their tasks are defined.

According to the Regulation, the Agency is an organization acting on behalf of the Ministry for each investment and grant project.

The agency reports to the ministry and reports to it in its activities.

On the basis of investment projects in the water sector of the Agency for the implementation of projects in the field of agriculture and food security, the Agency established as separate legal entities:

- World Bank Project Implementation Team;

- Group for the implementation of projects of the Asian Development Bank;

- Project Implementation Unit of the Arab Coordination Group.

The Agency for Implementation of Projects in the Field of Water Management was established in accordance with the resolution of the President from 9 October 2019.
