Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The head of state launched the construction of new blocks in the Syrdarya region.

For each of about 4,500 homeowners affected by the flood, on behalf of the President are transferred:

- financial assistance in the amount of 40 million soums;

- household appliances in the form of televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, mini ovens, electric kettles, irons.

For residents whose houses have become completely unsuitable, it is planned to build 3 residential areas with 66 five-story houses for 2640 apartments in Mirzaabad, Sardoba and Akaltyn districts.

Repair and construction of new houses will be free of charge carried out by the state.

By 1 September, people will be able to relocate to new apartments and their renovated homes.

However, the areas where the houses were destroyed will remain at the disposal of the affected people.

About 1800 panel cottages in Sardoba, Mirzaabad and Akaltyn districts of Syrdarya region are planned to be modernized and transferred to the owners.

For this purpose, 305 teams of construction companies and about 12 thousand builders, headed by the leaders of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, arrived in Syrdarya.

323 large and small projects for 2 trillion 143 billion soums will be implemented.

As part of these projects, about 10 thousand people will be employed in Mirzaabad, Akaltyn and Sardoba districts in 2020.
