Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Decree of the President “On measures to reform the procedure for permanent residence and registration at the place of stay”, from 1 September 2020:

- the period of stay without registration at the place of permanent residence and place of temporary stay for citizens of Uzbekistan is 15 days;

- registration at the place of permanent residence and place of temporary stay is made within one day;

- the order of discharge from the previous place of permanent residence when registering citizens of Uzbekistan at another place of permanent residence is canceled;

- the practice of stamping the passport, house book or apartment card when registering citizens of Uzbekistan at the place of permanent residence is canceled;

- the procedure for visiting military-obligated departments of defense affairs is canceled to be removed from military registration and accepted for military registration in the process of registration at the place of permanent residence;

- the consent of the owner of the housing is not required when the citizen of Uzbekistan provides information on the lease agreement registered with the tax authorities when registering at the place of temporary residence.

Also, the registration procedure is being introduced at the place of permanent residence of the newborn at the address of the place of permanent residence of his father or mother when registering a birth certificate by civil registration authorities by entering information through interagency electronic interaction.

Citizens of Uzbekistan registered at the place of permanent residence in a certain territory of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, residing at a different address in accordance with this territory, do not need to register at the place of temporary residence, and they are not considered violators of the passport system.
