Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the nineteenth plenary meeting of the Senate, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments and Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On State Customs Service" was discussed.
It was noted that according to the recommendation of the Eurasian Group (FATF) on combating money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the customs authorities are responsible for controlling the flow of cash through border checkpoints.
Therefore, the Law includes tasks on participation in the development and implementation of measures to combat money laundering, terrorist financing and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction within its competence.
At the same time, the Law is supplemented by the norms establishing the conduct of a customs audit and verification of documents, the possibility of admitting citizens over thirty years of age to work in specialized institutions of the structure of customs authorities on the basis of an order from the chairman of the State Customs Committee.
In addition, a number of changes and additions are being made in order to eliminate problem situations in practice due to inconsistencies and inaccuracies in the legislation.
The adoption of the Law will contribute to further ensuring the rule of law, improving the legal culture in society, educating citizens in the spirit of respect for the law, as well as eliminating problematic situations that arise in practice.
The law was approved by the senators.
