The Information Center for Nuclear Technologies holds the first "Atomic Test"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Information Center for Nuclear Technologies in Tashkent (ICAT) held the first online quiz "Atomic Offset", organized with the support of the Uzatom Agency and the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. The event was attended by schoolchildren and students who wished to test their knowledge of the school curriculum in physics.

Despite the forced restrictions associated with quarantine requirements, ICAT continues its work, mastering new formats of events using Internet technologies.

“Following the current trends in the field of communication technologies, as well as taking into account the activity of modern youth on the Internet, we settled on the format of an intellectual online game,” says Gulrukhsor Ravshanova, head of the information service of the Uzatom agency. "This is one of the best ways to attract the attention of young people to information in the field of science and technology."

During the game, the participants remembered the basic laws of physics, tested their knowledge about energy sources, learned for what purposes radiation is used in our lives, as well as which country has the largest number of nuclear power units today.

The players competed not only in correct answers, but also in speed. Thus, each question was given 30 seconds, and the correct answer was shown on the screen of the participants immediately after the completion of the question. Thus, the guys could check the accuracy of the chosen option.

According to the organizers, this feature of the quiz is an educational aspect, as the children can remember a previously unfamiliar scientific fact.

The winners were determined by two criteria: the number of correct answers and speed. And with the same number of points, the winner was the one who was the first in terms of accuracy and speed of answering the last question. The rating of the participants was built automatically.

As a result, Miyasar Uzakbaeva, a student of NRNU MEPhI, became the winner of the first "Atomic test". The second place was taken by Amin Shadyev, a student of the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, the third place was taken by Vladimir Shapkin, a student of the 7th grade of school No. 194 in Tashkent.

The winners of the "Atomic credit" say:

Vladimir Shapkin:

- I liked participating in the online quiz, it was very interesting. I was a little worried if I could answer all the questions. I am glad to be one of the winners and will definitely participate in other ICAT online events.

Amin Shadyev:

- I have been interested in physics since the eighth grade and have chosen a technical specialty for myself, as I consider this direction to be promising. I took part in the online quiz with pleasure and is glad that I passed the "Atomic test"!

Miyasar Uzakbaeva:

- Initially, I doubted whether to take part, but phrases about school knowledge and prizes made me try my luck. The questions were interesting in their own way, they were humorous and made you tighten your convolutions. This quiz format was new to me. Thanks to the organizers for the game and good mood!
