The government of Uzbekistan introduces changes to individual transit rules
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan has adjusted certain rules for transit traffic through the territory of the state.
The government extended the period during which transit vehicles must leave the country from three to five days from the date of entry.
This restriction does not apply to foreigners, traveling through Uzbekistan for tourist, non-commercial purposes, the document indicates.
Also 47 new routes intended for the transit movement of foreign road carriers through the territory of Uzbekistan were opened.
The largest number of them is available when entering from the border of Tajikistan (18 routes) and Turkmenistan (12 routes). To date, 52 routes have been used.
It is also now permitted to transfer goods from a foreign car to national carriers under customs control at customs warehouses located outside established transit routes.
