The French city of Rueil-Malmaison allocated funds for humanitarian aid to Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Sister cities are an important component of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and France. Thanks to the joint efforts of the two countries, twin cities have been established between the cities of Bukhara and Ruei-Malmaison. The relationship between cities is a demanded and effective channel for direct dialogue between regions.

Last year, in Rueil-Malmaison, in honor of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of twinning relations with Bukhara, the "Uzbek Garden" was opened, where a monument to the great scientist-encyclopedist Abu Ali Ibn Sino was erected.

In the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting each other, the twin cities regularly exchange practical experience between local authorities.

Within the framework of cooperation, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France met with Deputy Mayor Constant Roger Gresek, during which the parties exchanged views on cooperation in the fight against COVID-19. The intention of Uzbekistan to further develop the system of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service was especially noted, for which the experience of France can be very useful in organizing the newly created service.

As a result of the negotiations, in order to strengthen twinning ties, specific agreements were reached on the allocation of humanitarian assistance to the twin city of Bukhara to combat COVID-19.
