The First Scientific and Educational Meeting Was Held at Almalyk State Technical Institute
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Almalyk State Technical Institute hosted its first scientific and educational event, held in conjunction with the establishment of the institution.
According to the institute, the purpose of the meeting was to cultivate a sense of responsibility, respect for science, and patriotism among students.
The event, titled “I Am a Student of the New Uzbekistan,” began with a pledge ceremony for first-year students. The students affirmed their commitment to diligent study and service to society.
The program included participation from the institute’s leadership, faculty members, international guests, parents, and students.
In his address, the rector outlined the key directions for the university’s development, including improving the educational environment, supporting scientific and practical projects, and fostering innovation.
The event also featured a cultural and educational program with performances by creative groups. Several students were recognized for their achievements in academic and extracurricular activities.
Almalyk State Technical Institute was established by Presidential Decree No. PP-279 on 8 September 2025 to train specialists in engineering, metallurgy, manufacturing, and mining sectors.
According to the institute, the educational process is being developed under its Institutional Development Concept, which focuses on improving education quality, commercializing scientific research, and aligning training standards with international benchmarks.
Currently, the institute educates about 6,000 students across 11 programs. The scientific potential is notable: of 165 faculty members, 78 hold academic degrees.
This year, a new faculty was opened in the Bekabad district—the first in the last 40 years.
The institute maintains partnerships with educational and industrial organizations in 15 countries, including Russia, China, Japan, Malaysia, Turkey, Iran, Hungary, and Belarus.
