Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first meetings of the Legislative Chamber and Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held in Tashkent on 20 January 2020.

The decision to convene meetings of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate was made by the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, representatives of the CEC considered the registration of Senate members of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the convening of the first meetings of the chambers of parliament.

In accordance with the Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, joint meetings of deputies of representative bodies of state power of the Jokargi Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, districts and cities for the election of members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan were held on 16-17 January 2020.

Based on the protocols of these meetings, members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan were registered.

It was noted that Senate members were elected among authoritative deputies with rich practical experience and distinguished themselves in the fields of science, art, literature, production and other areas of state and public activity.
