The first meeting of the joint commission at the level of heads of governments takes place in Urgench
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 May 2019, within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev to Uzbekistan, the first meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government was held in Urgench. This is a new format of bilateral cooperation established during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan in October 2018.
At the talks, the sides discussed the course of cooperation in the trade, economic, investment, scientific, educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the implementation of major joint projects in the energy, industry, transport and agriculture.
Commenting on the state of bilateral relations during the meeting, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade S. Umurzakov noted that a new chapter in the business partnership of Uzbekistan and Russia is impossible without vigorous activity of the business circles of the two countries and inviting the Russian business community to implement 90 investment projects, specific project proposals for which It is planned to present at the Tashkent International Investment Forum in October of this year.
Following the events, joint documents on cooperation in various fields were signed.
