The first forum of interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation starts in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18-20 October 2018, the first forum of interregional cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held in Tashkent at the Uzexpocenter NEC JSC.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.

On 18 October 2018, the business mission of the Russian Export Center in Uzbekistan begins its work. The event is dedicated to the First Forum of Interregional Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan. The purpose of this forum is the expansion and development of mutually beneficial cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.

Within the framework of the forum it is planned to hold breakout sessions on the topic:

The new stage of the Uzbek-Russian Interregional cooperation: projects and clusters, which include discussing the benefits of cluster development of administrative-territorial entities of Uzbekistan and Russia, using the potential of special economic zones and industrial parks of Russia, ways of intensifying interregional relations of Uzbekistan and Russia;

Digital transformation is a new reality for Uzbekistan and Russia to discuss issues of digitalization of the economy as a new objective need, the use of digital technologies in order to intensify cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, the use of advanced technologies in the public administration system, etc.

Practical seminar Agro-industrial complex: points of growth for the development of cooperation.

More than 200 Russian representatives from the Government, ministries and departments of the Russian Federation and regions, governors of regions, as well as representatives of business circles, heads of leading companies of the Russian Federation are expected to participate in this workshop.

General directors and representatives of such leading Russian companies as PEGAZ, Zur Bazar Wholesale Distribution Center, AgroHimProm Group of Companies, RostAgroService, Veles Trading House, Churilovo Agricultural Complex, Commercial Vehicles - GAZ Group, X5 Retail Group, Rostselmash KZ, SHP Yugrosprom, Energosila, TDL Textile, Chelyabinsk Compressor Plant, Teikovsky Cotton Combine, RosAgroMarket and others are among the participants of the event.

Uzbekistan’s agriculture is different in that it is multifaceted; cotton, grain and grains, melons, fruits, grapes and other crops are grown on fertile land. The soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan are favorable for the production of a wide range of fruit and vegetable crops with high quality and excellent taste parameters, significantly superior to similar products from other regions of the world.

The workshop held within the framework of the interstate Forum will serve as a platform for communication and discussion of joint plans for the development and strengthening of trade and economic relations between the two countries, familiarization with the potential of the two countries in the agro-industrial sector, in particular the field of agricultural cooperation, the establishment of long-term, prospective and mutually beneficial relations between circles of the agro-industrial sector of the two countries.

Within the framework of the forum, exhibitions on the topics “Promising directions for the development of interregional cooperation between the subjects of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation” will be organized in the exhibition pavilions. Fresh, dried and processed fruits, vegetables, melons and legumes, as well as spices will be presented in Uzbekistan.

In order to establish cooperative ties between local producers and foreign participants, in the halls of the Uzexpocenter NEC, there will be “negotiation zones” where suppliers can conduct direct negotiations with representatives of foreign trading companies, in particular, with procurement decision makers.

At the same time, a special tour to enterprises for the production and processing of agricultural products will be organized for foreign participants of the forum.
