Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 24 October 2019, in Tashkent, a business meeting was held between representatives of Namangan region khokimiyat and heads of South Korean companies, as a result of which an additional investment agreement was signed to accelerate the construction of the Hyundai automobile plant, one of the largest projects in region.

The document was signed by the khokim of the region Khayrullo Bozarov, Vice President of Hyundai Motors Commercial Vehicles Division Lim Hyun Jung, Hyundai Corporation Commercial Cars and Railways General Director Pak Yong Hwan and Evergreen Motors Vice President Kim Ik Don .

The agreement was worked out with the active support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of our country in the Republic of Korea.

The parties agreed that the first finished products of the enterprise will be produced in the first half of 2020.

The project to build a Hyundai commercial vehicle manufacturing plant in Namangan region is being implemented as part of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Republic of Korea on November 22-25, 2017.

After the construction is completed and the plant is launched, it is planned to produce 2,500 small trucks, vans and buses annually. It is expected that after the enterprise reaches full capacity, more than a thousand new jobs will be created here.
