Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first case of coronavirus infection was recorded among the population of Uzbekistan. The 20-year-old girl from Tashkent was infected. This was announced by the Director of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being Bakhrom Almatov at a briefing on Tuesday.
He said that she did not go abroad, did not communicate with patients.
The girl’s parents were also not outside the country. According to Bakhrom Almatov, a resident of the capital, presumably, became infected during her studies.
Almatov said that five persons are feeling good now and symptoms of coronavirus disappeared. Bakhrom Almatov added that doctors continue to monitor them, and they will remain in quarantine for another 14 days.
After quarantine, in the absence of signs of the disease, these patients will be allowed to go home.
