The fifth political party is registered in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan registered the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan, the press service of the Ministry of Justice said.

The objectives of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan are to contribute to achievement of the country’s sustainable development goals, to create favorable living conditions for the people of Uzbekistan, to mobilize all the forces of society to preserve the unique nature, to develop and implement national and regional programs, and to increase the level of environmental culture in the society.

On 8 January 2019,  a constituent congress of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent. During the congress, the participants approved the party’s charter and program, and also elected members of the central council and central control and auditing commission.

Boriy Alikhonov was elected as the chairman of the executive committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.

Four political parties are officially registered in Uzbekistan - the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP), the Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Milly Tiklanish” (“National Revival”), the People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (PDPU) and the Social Democratic Party “Adolat” (Justice).
