Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution “On measures to streamline the circulation of medicines, medical devices and medical equipment during the coronavirus pandemic” 22 July 2020.

In order to prevent a shortage of medicines and equipment in the fight against the widespread spread of coronavirus infection, timely provision of medical care to patients with coronavirus, before 1 October 2020:

- production by local enterprises of medical devices and equipment according to the list, including oxygen concentrators, pulse oximeters and dietary supplements containing zinc, selenium, magnesium and vitamin D, can be carried out without state registration, and customs clearance when importing and implementation - without mandatory certification;

- production by local enterprises of medicines according to the list can be carried out without state registration, customs clearance during their import and sale - with certification within 5 days (with only some chemical analyzes). The special republican commission is granted the right, on the basis of a joint conclusion of the Ministry of Health and the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry, to make additions and changes to this list;

- the export of medicines, medical products and medical equipment from the territory of Uzbekistan is temporarily suspended (except for the re-export customs regime).

Manufacturers and importers are responsible for the quality and safety of products and, within five days after the sale, report on the products sold to the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry.

The resolution instructed:

The State Customs Committee, together with the Border Troops of the State Security Service, shall establish strict control over the illegal export of medicines and medical products outside the republic;

The Ministry of Transport will provide practical assistance to those wishing to organize flights to deliver medicines and medical equipment to Uzbekistan.
