The customs services of Belarus and Uzbekistan approve the terms of information cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus Yuriy Senko and Chairman of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan Murodjon Azimov made decisions on a wide range of topical issues of bilateral customs cooperation.

The meeting of the main customs officers of Belarus and Uzbekistan, on the eve of which the Uzbek customs officers familiarized themselves with the work of the Belarusian customs at the Brest and Kozlovichi checkpoints, was held today in Minsk, the State Customs Committee reported.

“During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the order of implementation of the provisions of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the system of facilitating mutual trade of 13 September 2018,” the message said.

The relevance of this issue is determined by the fact that in modern conditions the priority areas for the development of foreign trade are processes aimed at reducing trade barriers, increasing efficiency and reducing the time frame for customs control, and increasing trade between countries. The standards set forth in the Agreement are aimed at such priorities.

As a result of today’s meeting, the heads of customs administrations approved the Technical Conditions for Informational Interaction, which are the basic document necessary for the implementation of the Agreement.

And tomorrow a Protocol on cooperation in the fight against customs offenses will be signed. The practical implementation of the norms laid down in the document will help combat violations related to the competence of customs authorities.

The results of such meetings are a solid basis for further customs dialogue between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
