Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Employees of the Office for Combating Smuggling and Customs Violations of the State Customs Committee and the Customs Administration for Namangan Region suppressed the activities of an organized criminal group engaged in the illegal import of freight vehicles.

As it became known, members of the criminal group on a bypass road passing along the edge of the village of Kairoki, Yangikurgan district, Namangan region, imported a Photon truck to the territory of our state. Then, in order to avoid suspicion, a plate with a license plate of another vehicle registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan is attached to the vehicle.

It also turned out that under the gravel of the vehicle in the cargo part were also two high-voltage transformers and spare parts hidden from customs control.

As a result of the operational-search measures, it was found that this is not the only case of the illegal import of vehicles by a criminal group.

It was established that previously a truck of the same Photon brand, which was currently stored in the city of Namangan, was also illegally imported, and in order to avoid suspicion, the cab of the vehicle was replaced by the cab of another MAZ freight truck.

The total value of trucks, transformers and other inventory items seized as a result of operational activities amounted to 910 million soums.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated on this fact.
