The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of St. Petersburg appealed to compatriots

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of St. Petersburg appealed to our compatriots residing in this Russian city.

The document says the following:

“The news about the organization of the next charter flights from various cities of Russia for the transportation of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan caused a wide resonance among our compatriots who are in the Russian Federation for work, study, or for other reasons. In recent days, there has been an increased concentration of Uzbek citizens near the Consulate General, demanding that they be sent to their homeland on charter flights.

In this regard, we draw attention to the fact that, in accordance with the decision of the Special Republican Commission, on priority flights, on the basis of lists compiled by diplomatic missions, citizens with health problems, or patients, small children, pregnant women, are allowed seniors, as well as citizens who purchased tickets for previously canceled regular flights. It was this category of compatriots who was invited to the charter, organized on 14 May 2020 from St. Petersburg to Uzbekistan.

We assure that all citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan included in our lists will be returned to their homeland as the organization of charter flights. In this regard, we kindly ask compatriots to remain calm, not to succumb to the calls of provocateurs and to remain in their places of permanent / temporary residence until the epidemiological situation stabilizes.

Separately, it should be noted that in a pandemic, the accumulation of a large number of people near the Consulate General is fraught with infection by various diseases, including the coronavirus infection COVID-19.

The Consulate General is aware of the material and other problems faced by the compatriots remaining in Russia. In this context, we recommend that fellow citizens who are left without work contact the representative office of the Agency for External Labor Migration, which, within the framework of its capabilities and powers, will assist in their employment.

For compatriots without a permanent residence, the Consulate General is ready to assist in the search and finding of temporary housing.

Starting from 14 May, payment of one-time financial assistance to citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, who found themselves in a difficult situation, began as part of the Mehr project launched by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia.

The payments will be made to the following categories of citizens:

Disabled, upon presentation of the relevant supporting document (certificate);

Women with dependent children under 2 years old, as well as pregnant women with a gestational age of more than 7 months, upon presentation of the necessary supporting documents (copy of the birth certificate of the child, a certificate from a medical institution);

Persons with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, upon presentation of the relevant supporting document;

Students studying in full-time departments of Russian higher educational institutions, upon presentation of the relevant certificate from the place of study.

Diaspora organizations also offer their help in the form of food delivery.
