The construction of an overpass at the intersection of Kipchak Street is nearing completion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Changes taking place in Sergeli district of the capital, ongoing creative work over the past 3-4 years have turned this district into a city in the city. The commissioning of 460 apartment buildings in the district in a short period of time led to the resettlement of more than 100 thousand people here and an increase in their number by more than 276 thousand people.

As a result, the load on infrastructure networks is also increasing. Therefore, much attention is paid to the construction of additional engineering structures, roads and bridges connecting the district with the central part of the city. The goal is to create a convenient transportation network for the population.

The team of Unitary Enterprise “Trest Mostostroy” JSC “Uzbekistan Temir Yollari” also makes a worthy contribution to this work. In particular, in order to ensure the implementation of Presidential resolution No. PP-3632 of March 29, 2018 “On approval of the Program for the construction, reconstruction and overhaul of bridges, overpasses and other artificial structures in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent for 2018-2022” , the specialists of the enterprise are completing the construction of a transport interchange (overpass) at the intersection of Kipchak street in the Sergeli district with the Tashkent-Angren railway. It is known that this route is one of the most intensive destinations in the Sergeli region and is the main transport corridor connecting 2 large areas.

However, for many years, the passage of the Tashkent-Angren railway through Kipchak street, especially recently, the closure of the road for several minutes with the regular daily movement of many freight and passenger trains from Tashkent to Angren, as well as during the movement of the population along the road from mornings at work and in the evening from work, created great inconvenience for automobile traffic and population movement. This, in turn, required the construction of an overpass.

Finally, in 2018, the construction of an overpass in the area began. Initially, the specialists of the unitary enterprise Kuprikkurilishloyiha and the institute of Boshtransloyloikha JSC developed a draft overpass. After that, the team of the 13th bridge-building unit of the unitary enterprise “Trust bridge-building” began construction and installation works.

According to the project, the total length of the overpass is 772.5 meters, an average width of 28 meters and a height of about 9 meters above the railway line. The elevated part of the structure has a length of 445.3 meters and a height of 8.2 meters.

According to experts, to date, about 90 percent of the construction of this overpass has already been completed. It remains only to pave the asphalt, to finish and improve the pedestrian sidewalks.
