Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS, Commonwealth) will be implemented in accordance with the Concept for the Further Development of the CIS, as well as plans and programs in various areas of cooperation adopted within the Organization.

The Republic of Uzbekistan will simultaneously preside in the Council of Heads of State, the Council of Heads of Government, the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Economic Council, the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries of the participating States under the charter and other organs of the Commonwealth, the Commission on Economic Affairs at the CIS Economic Council.

The chairmanship of Uzbekistan will proceed from the principle of continuity in accordance with the fundamental documents of the CIS and will primarily be aimed at expanding and strengthening partnerships among member states on the basis of equality, good neighborliness, mutual respect and consideration of interests in order to ensure sustained development dynamics, increase welfare and quality life of the peoples of the participating states.
