The Competition Committee Recovers 6.7 Billion Soums for Consumers from Five Developers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Competition Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has reported the recovery of 6.7 billion soums in favour of consumers from five construction companies.
The regional office of the Committee in Tashkent Region received complaints from citizens who had made timely payments for housing but did not receive their apartments within the deadlines stipulated by their contracts.
Following the review of these complaints, lawsuits were filed on behalf of 32 consumers seeking more than 11 billion soums in compensation for violations of the law.
The court upheld the claims against the companies GLAMUR GOLD, TRANSPORT FREE GROUP, LUCKY TECHNICAL, BROCCOLI PLUS, and NUR, ordering the return of a total of 6.7 billion soums to 16 consumers.
Court proceedings to restore the rights of the remaining consumers are ongoing in accordance with the established procedure, the Committee stated.
