The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Discussed Trade Digitalization and Joint CIS Initiatives
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan took part in a meeting of heads of chambers of commerce and industry of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held via videoconference under the chairmanship of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the chambers of Tajikistan, Belarus, Russia and Uzbekistan, who delivered welcoming remarks. Uzbekistan was represented by Alisher Shaykhov, Adviser to the Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on foreign economic activity.
During the meeting, participants discussed issues related to the development of innovative cooperation, the digitalization of trade processes, the introduction of electronic accounting of certificates of origin, product labeling and identification, as well as the expansion of exhibition and trade fair activities among CIS countries.
Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan emphasized the need to further simplify trade procedures, harmonize technical requirements, develop mechanisms for mutual recognition of electronic documents, and strengthen cooperation between business communities.
In addition, Uzbekistan’s readiness to actively participate in international joint initiatives aimed at enhancing regional export potential and reinforcing cooperation among the chambers was noted.
As a result of the meeting, specific measures were outlined for the implementation of joint initiatives in 2026 and for the further development of cooperation.
