Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports that in Yunusabad district of Tashkent, the basic rate of electricity consumption, which was introduced there during the pilot project, was canceled.

The basic rate of electricity consumption was part of a new experimental payment system that was introduced on 1 January 2019 in Yunusabad region for the rational use of fuel and energy resources.

In March of this year, the Ministry of Energy, taking into account the quarantine situation, when the majority of the population spends time at home, an appeal was sent to the Ministry of Finance with a request to cancel this experiment. This will allow all subscribers to be on an equal footing in paying for electricity consumption.

According to a response received from the Ministry of Finance on 25 March 2020, the introduction of a basic norm for electricity consumption in Yunusabad district of the capital was canceled.
