Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Presidential Decree “On Approving the National Human Rights Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted.
The decree defines the main areas of activity of state bodies and organizations of Uzbekistan responsible for the implementation of international human rights treaties.
One of the main directions is the identification, analysis, as well as the elimination of the causes and conditions that impede the implementation of the recommendations of the statutory bodies and UN human rights treaty committees.
Also, the Decree approved the National Human Rights Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Road Map for its implementation.
In order to implement the National Strategy and the Road Map, the National Center for Human Rights (Center) conducts regular monitoring, makes proposals and recommendations to the relevant ministries and departments on the quality and timely implementation of measures.
The responsible executors indicated in the Roadmap, before the 5th day of each month, submit to the Center information on the fulfillment of the tasks assigned to them.
The decree establishes the badge "Inson Huquqlari Himoyasi Uchun."
The badge is awarded annually on International Human Rights Day for services to protect human rights and enhance the culture of respect for human rights.
Also, once every two years, the Samarkand Human Rights Forum will be held at a high organizational level with the participation of representatives of international organizations, specialists from foreign countries and guests of honor.
Center employees with a degree:
Candidate of Science or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) up to 30 percent of the official salary is paid;
Doctor of Science - up to 60 percent of the official salary.
