TGHamyon Receives License to Provide Crypto Custody Services
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The National Agency for Perspective Projects has granted a license for cryptoasset-related activities to the Uzbek company TGHamyon.
According to information published in the electronic licensing registry, the permit for providing crypto custody services was issued on 18 July, making it the sixth such license granted in the country.
According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations (EGRPO), the sole founder of TGHamyon is the international holding company Wallet Global Ventures Ltd. This entity controls a range of crypto services, including the Wallet in Telegram project — a platform of cryptocurrency wallets integrated into the Telegram messenger.
The Wallet operates on the blockchain platform The Open Network (TON), which is based on the technological framework of the Telegram Open Network project, shut down in 2020 at the request of U.S. regulators. In September 2023, a partnership was announced between TON and Telegram.
Since November 2023, Telegram users (excluding residents of the United States and certain other countries) have been able to use built-in crypto wallets powered by TON. This development marked a significant step in the broader integration of blockchain services into the messenger’s ecosystem.
