During the meetings, the parties considered prospects for promotion of competitive textile products from Uzbekistan to new foreign markets, the press service of the Uzbek foreign ministry said.

It was noted that enterprises of Uzbekistan produce high-quality textile products.

Manufacturers of Uzbekistan welcomed the signing and entry into force on 1 July 2017 of the Textile Protocol to the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union, which is designed to lift restrictions on the supply of relevant Uzbek products to the markets of EU countries.

During the meeting it was noted that the customs service of the European Union was not officially informed about the protocol. This does not contribute to the growth of mutual trade, which is regularly announced at various levels of bilateral negotiations.

During the talks, other issues of diplomatic support for increasing the export of Uzbek products to foreign markets were discussed in detail.
