Terminal for new airport in Tashkent to be built by companies of the Swiss Mabetex Group

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Companies of Mabetex Group (Switzerland) will take part in the design and construction of the terminal of the new airport (“Terminal-2”), a modern passenger and business complex with a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour.

Uzbekiston Temir Yollari and B&A Contractors S.A. and IT Engineering S.A. signed a contract for the design and construction of a new airport terminal (Terminal 2) as part of the project for the construction of a modern civilian (business) aviation airport complex based on the Tashkent-Vostochny airfield.

B&A Contractors S.A. and IT Engineering S.A. are part of the company Mabetex Group.

As conceived by the authors of the project, the new terminal is made in the form of the mystical bird Humo. When creating the planning decisions of Terminal 2, its functional purpose, the creation of comfortable conditions and all kinds of amenities for passengers were taken into account.

The building was designed to meet the needs of all types of passenger class, including Economy, VIP and CIP.

The new airport will consist of three floors. In the common hall of the hotel there are restaurants, shopping centers, information points, Avia-ticket offices, exchange offices, etc. In the passenger lounge there are shops and restaurants Duty free.

The solution of the functional objective and planning was developed in accordance with the applicable norms and standards in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as with the international requirements of IATA and ICAO.

The new terminal will be equipped with modern engineering and technological equipment that meets international requirements, in particular, an automated cargo receiving system, a self-propelled registration device, special inspection tools, a special terminal management system, a telescopic ladder, an airplane parking system, information boards, etc.

The construction of a modern complex is planned for two years, commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2021.

The phased work on the construction of the runway is ongoing, with the involvement of the WIRTGEN road construction equipment, produced in Germany, intended for laying the concrete part of the runways.
