Termez hosts roundtable “My city – my honour”
Members of UzLiDeP, MPs of Legislative Chamber, local administration, business and farmers, and students participated in the event.
It was recalled that on the eve of the 23rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence, the Uzbek President awarded Amir Temur order to Termez city, which have rich history and contributed to development of world civilization.
The city also contributes to development of Uzbekistan. The city has large number of joint ventures such as Grandshifer, Nova Pharm, Shindong Spinning Termiz and Inter Silk Pro, etc.
This year, the city provided jobs for 3,589 people due to development of small enterprises and microfirms, individual entrepreneurship. About 183 new jobs were created due to launch of 38 new service objects.
Share of small and private businesses made up 67.8% in the past period of 2014. The enterprises exported goods for US$17,441.1.
The commercial banks allocated 81.433 billion soums to 699 business entities in the first half of 2014, which allowed to create 1,012 new jobs.
The city also has Muhammad Al-Hakim at-Termezi complex, which attracts large number of tourists. Over 2,000 tourists from 50 foreign states and 1,000 tourists from the CIS states visited the city in the first six months of 2014.
At the meeting, it was underlined that Termez should fully use its potential for further development.
