Telephone Conversation Held Between Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Serdar Berdimuhamedov

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 22 September, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

President Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated his Turkmen counterpart on his birthday, wishing him health, success, and well-being, and extended wishes of peace and prosperity to the brotherly Turkmen people.

The leaders discussed current issues related to further strengthening friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership between the two countries. They expressed satisfaction with the active development of political dialogue and interagency contacts.

Special attention was given to expanding mutual trade and implementing joint projects in the industrial and energy sectors. The construction of the “Shavat–Dashoguz” trade zone is nearing completion. In the near future, a Regional Forum, an exhibition, as well as Turkmen Culture and Cinema Days in Uzbekistan are planned.

The sides also reviewed key aspects of the regional agenda and agreed on the schedule of upcoming high-level events.

In conclusion, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the President and people of Turkmenistan on the forthcoming Independence Day of the country.
