Tatneft Registers Solar Project in Uzbekistan on India’s Universal Carbon Registry Platform

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Russian oil company Tatneft announced on its Telegram channel that it has registered a solar power generation project in Uzbekistan on India’s Universal Carbon Registry platform.

“We have installed solar power plants with a total capacity of 0.33 MW on the roof of our tire manufacturing plant in Uzbekistan. The clean solar energy is now being used for production purposes, replacing electricity from the regional grid, which has a high carbon footprint,” the company stated.

The project is expected to achieve an annual reduction of approximately 206 tons of CO₂ equivalent.

Tatneft has already registered 40 climate projects in the Russian carbon credit registry.

The Birinchi Rezinotexnika plant is located in Angren, Uzbekistan, and manufactures products under the Bars brand — producing 3 million car tires and 100,000 linear meters of conveyor belts annually.

Tatneft’s tire division also includes the Ikon Tyres plant in Vsevolozhsk, Russia, with an annual capacity of 17 million car tires, and the Tengri Tyres plant in Saran, Kazakhstan (brand Attar), which produces 3 million car tires and 500,000 truck tires per year.
