Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 April 2021, in the city of Termez, under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and with the participation of heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, commercial banks and local authorities, a meeting was held to discuss measures to comprehensively stimulate the socio-economic development of Surkhandarya region.

Insufficient use of the industrial, investment and export potential of the region was noted, as well as the need to improve communal infrastructure and social facilities.

In this regard, 11 working groups were created to study the current state of development in various sectors of industry, agriculture, investment, export, entrepreneurship, housing and infrastructure construction, tourism, information and communication industry, social development and employment. Priority tasks were also identified: targeted work with entrepreneurs, exporters, social workers and youth representatives at the level of individual enterprises, institutions and makhallas, identifying existing problematic issues and developing measures for their prompt solution by using unused resources and opportunities.

It was pointed out the need for close interaction of the heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and local authorities with the leaders of assemblies of citizens of makhallas in order to deeply study the current situation on the ground, get acquainted with the real problems of the population and entrepreneurs and develop effective solutions aimed at eliminating shortcomings and achieving tangible results in the shortest possible time.

As a result of the meeting, working groups and assigned heads of ministries, departments and commercial banks were given targeted instructions to further study the existing problems in each of the 721 makhallas of Surkhandarya region and develop effective algorithms for their solution. Upon completion of this work, targeted programs for the socio-economic development of each district and city of Surkhandarya region will be formed.
