Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - In the context of the pandemic, ICT technologies more than ever contribute to the prevention and monitoring of the spread of the virus. Based on the experience of the PRC, we can say that the use of ICT technologies has played a large role in improving the effectiveness of control and localization of the virus. Mobile applications and network connectivity have provided food to the homes of hundreds of millions of Chinese. Health tracking, reporting and counseling on countering the virus have been digitized like never before.
Huawei, with the support and coordination of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, together with the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare under the Ministry of Health, held a number of meetings to discuss the use of ICT technologies to prevent the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan. Based on the agreements, Huawei provided two thermal imaging cameras installed free of charge in the arrivals hall of the Tashkent International Airport.
Also, to support the implementation of operational communications with the Agency headquarters, walkie-talkie radios and body cameras will be provided to increase the responsiveness of specialists on the spot and to improve control over the situation in possible foci of the virus. Future plans include the transfer and installation of video conferencing systems to remotely connect with leading clinics in China to exchange experiences and find the best solution to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
“Huawei is committed to actively supporting the healthcare sector in a pandemic, and through the experience of China, we can see how ICT technology has helped millions of people stay connected, order food, receive online advice, monitor and analyze the data collected. We do not at all implore the heroism and rejection of doctors and all medical personnel, but it is ICT technologies that are designed to facilitate work, ensure uninterrupted data exchange and help resolve the situation as soon as possible,” said Huawei Director of Uzbekistan, Liu Jiaxing.
According to the chief sanitary doctor Bahrom Almatov, this gesture of support from Huawei was, as never before, on time and out of place.
“We thank Huawei for the initiative shown to provide assistance in the person of our agency to all the people of Uzbekistan. Two thermal imaging cameras have already been set up at the airport in Tashkent. We also received two video conferencing systems and, with the support of our Chinese colleagues, we plan to establish remote communication with Chinese clinics to more efficiently resolve issues related to the spread of coronavirus in Uzbekistan,” Almatov said.
