Tashkent to Host Third Meeting of Central Asian and South Korean Parliamentary Leaders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 15 to 17 December, Tashkent will host the third meeting of the heads of parliaments of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea.

The main goal of the event is to support the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, deepen inter-parliamentary dialogue, and elevate bilateral and regional cooperation to a new qualitative level.

The plenary session will focus on the theme "Cooperation for Human Dignity, Social Justice, and Environmental Protection," outlining priorities for regional engagement in the near future.

The program includes two thematic sessions: the first on "Economic Cooperation, Digital Transformation, and Industry: Paths to Regional Prosperity," and the second on "Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection: The Role of Parliaments in Implementing Ecological Initiatives."

Additionally, meetings of inter-parliamentary commissions and friendship groups are planned to study best legislative practices, along with discussions involving think tanks and academic experts.

The meeting is expected to conclude with the adoption of a Joint Declaration, formalizing the agreements reached and directions for further cooperation.

The first meeting in this format was held on 19 September 2023, in Seoul, and the second on 14 October 2024, in Ashgabat.
